Confirmations

Confirmation pictures of Kevin and Sis (1958), Paul and Mary Ellen (1960). Dad’s 1931 confirmation certificate is also here. His certificate was issued on April 1, 1944, and may have been needed to prove he was a Catholic before he and Mom could be married a week later on April 8. (His First Communion certificate was also issued the same day.) Mom had her baptismal certificate issued on April 1, too, for presumably the same reason.

Kevin and Sis were confirmed in 1958, but, curiously, two black and white pictures taken in 1958 were printed again in color two years later, at the same time the color pictures of Mary and Paul were developed. Maybe Mom took advantage of some technology new at the time to re-print the earlier pictures in color.

These pictures were taken in the spring of 1960 in front of the house at 3009 N. 36th St, a few months before the family moved to 2851 N. Grant Blvd.
