Dad’s Personal Health merit badge certification (second picture), as well as five of those for Robert Quinn, who graduated from Gesu Grade School with him in 1932 and must have been a friend. Why Dad had them is a mystery.
Robert Quinn may–may–have been a cousin. Dad’s paternal grandmother was Bridget Quinn, who had eight surviving children. If just some of her children had their own large families, Dad would have had a lot of cousins.
Most interesting is the picture of him as a Boy Scout at age 15, in 1934.
Also here is his registration as a committeeman for the St. Ann’s Grade School Boy Scout Troop 56. A committeeman acted as administrative and support service for the troop leader.
