Mom sorted some of the family photographs into envelopes and loosely dated them by year. To honor her intention, these arrangements have been retained below. As always, quote marks signal her handwritten identifications on the pictures. She also placed some pictures in an envelope labeled “1940s and 1950s.” They can be seen here.

The two pictures of Sis bundled up on a wagon may be from 1948 instead of 1947. She looks too old to be less than one year. She either wasn’t happy that day or she really didn’t like the cold.

The first four pictures were taken at the convalescent home where Jim stayed after being released from the hospital for rheumatic heart fever and concomitant Sydenham chorea. Although Mom put them in the 1953 envelope, they may have been taken in 1954.
