Letters: From Mom to Dad (1944, 1945)

Mom wrote Dad 19 letters between August 16, 1945, and October 14. Also included here is a Christmas card from 1944. There were earlier ones from Mom because of references to them in the extant letters but none of them have come down to us.

The letters start the day after Jim was born and are mostly about the new baby in one way or another. On the day Jim was born Nana typed a letter to Dad informing him of the birth (in ‘Letters to Dad From Family and Friends‘). Mom’s letters stopped in mid-October, probably because by then Dad was out of the Navy and back in Milwaukee.
